Apple Event 15 September 2020 – 12 Things to Expect !
Apple Event 2020
There have been quite a few rumors that Apple would unveil something today at 10 A.M PDT. Now, many leakers have reported that we would be getting the Apple Watch series six, as well as the iPad Air 4 both unveiled via press release. Now, it seems to be in September, September the 15th, actually, which is actually today. So without any further ado, here are 12 major things you can expect from this event alongside my personal prediction as to what percentage of probability we actually have in terms of seeing each of these products.
So, yeah, getting snacks ready, sit back, relax, and enjoy. Just to clear things up, Apple has usually had one major event in September for many years now where they’ve unveiled the brand new iPhones as well as the new generation of Apple Watch. Now, sometimes they’ve also had an event in October for something like the pros, as well as some Mac updates. So what is happening this year?
Well, as you all are probably aware, because of COVID the iPhone, Twelve’s will all be pushed, so. No iPhone 12 as yet, the links are saying that the iPhone 12 would be released in October, followed by the iPhone 12 press release sometime in November. Now, this is quite a departure from what it was up until now. A September release, Apple even said, that the new iPhones will be launching a bit later in the year.
It is anticipated that Apple could actually have not one, not two, but actually three separate events. So the September one, just for the apple watch and new iPad air, then the big one in October, would all the new iPhones releasing in October and then finally the Mac-related one in November. Now, in terms of the Apple invite itself, we seem to have this really interesting blue Apple logo, which you can actually open up AR on your iPhone if you go to our website. And by the way, this is a full 3D shape may be pointing towards some of the AR improvements that the new iPhone will be getting.
Also, the blue color, it could be a Hint at the Navy blue iPhone 12. This would be my two personal takes from that event invite. As you probably know, Apple does tend to leave Easter eggs in each of these invites. Now, when it comes to today’s event, I would say that there is a 100 percent chance that we will see the Apple Watch Series 6, not just because of all the leaks and rumors pointing towards this, but also because if you look at the metadata of Apple’s Lifestream event, which is set to premiere today, there are actually four mentions of the apple series 6.
Also to note, there are mentions of iPad, iPad Air MacBook, iMac, MacBook Pro Fitness, Wellness Illustration, Apple TV, and Digital Arts. All of these could points that Apple discussing all of these at today’s events.
Anyway, going back to the Apple itself, series 6 is expected to be a fairly small upgrade. The biggest change would be the brand new oxygen level meter, which would be able to detect the amount of oxygen in your blood and possibly even detect if you have COVID as COVID does indeed affect the amount of oxygen in your blood. Apple Event 2020
So maybe that will be a feature, maybe not. But oxygen level meter, that’s something that we will be getting. We’re also getting a faster processor with the Apple Watch, S6 SoC chip. Performance-wise, the battery life is said to be improved as well, with the battery itself getting slightly larger by 7.8mAh.
I know it seems like nothing, but on a small device like a smartwatch, every single small increment that actually matters. But yeah, no new design and no major changes aside from really just that oxygen level meter. Next up, we have the Apple Watch SE so this is said to be an Apple Watch Series 3 design with an updated processor and the price tag of around two hundred dollars.
Now, I would say that this has around a 50% chance of happening, mostly because we’ve seen quite a few reports that we’re seeing that it would only come out around March 2021, which is usually when Apple also releases updates that are entry-level devices, the entry-level iPad, the iPhone and Apple Watch SE stuff like that. So it would make more sense for Apple to release the Apple Watch SE then and now.
Next up, we have the iPad Air 4 and I would say that there is about an 80% chance that this will be introduced today. Anyways, from the leaks that we’ve seen, the iPad Air 4 would look identical to the iPad Pro 2018. Now, there are three things that are not fully confirmed just yet.
Number one the display size, as we’ve seen some reports saying that this will only come with a smaller 10.8-inch display panel and slightly larger bezels than the iPad Pro, the second one is face ID, as we’ve seen quite a few reports, including one from a pretty accurate Twitter leaker encomia. You’ve heard of him before, probably that said that the iPad Air will have a Touch ID in the power button rather than a face ID. Now, I really hope that this won’t be the case because they’ll be a pain on such a large device like tab to wake and Face ID or a finger reader on the front or honestly crucial to have on a tablet.
Then the third thing that’s not fully confirmed yet is the processor. So we’ve seen reports that it could come with the Apple A14 X chip or even the Apple A14. Now, I honestly don’t believe it to be the case as even the A14 would make the iPad Air 4 better than the latest iPad Pro 2020 in terms of the raw CPU performance. So my personal prediction on this is either an Apple A13 chip as the current one already has the A12, so it makes sense for you to be A13 or Apple could also update the iPad Pro 2020.
I would say that the chance of this happening would be around 50% and really dependent on what apple does with a processor inside the iPad Air 4 what if the Air 4 doesn’t get updated with the Apple A14 chip, then I would personally predict an updated 2020 to be unveiled today with a more powerful A14 processor. That’s obviously Air 4 also comes out today. Next up, we have iOS 14. This has already been unveiled in 2020.
So this would be the final release of the public of iOS 14. And I would say that it says about a 60% chance of happening today, but a 90% chance of happening in terms of a GM release or gold masters, which will essentially be the final version of iOS 14 that will be released to the developers first and then to the public like two weeks after iOS, is really one of the biggest changes that iOS has ever received with on-screen widgets for the very first time, as well as an app drawer. iOS completely changes the way you use your iPhone.
Next up, we have watchOS 7 and same as iOS I would give this a 60% chance of it being released to the public today, but about a 90% chance of Apple releasing the watchOS 7 to GM today. Now, unfortunately, the changes that watchOS 7 brings to the table are quite small when the most significant one being sleep tracking, which isn’t really that great at the moment, to be honest, like so it doesn’t measure REM or deep sleep. It literally just measures when you go to bed and when you wake up.
So pretty much just like a timer or a stopwatch. And that’s it. And then the final piece of software would be MacOS Big Sur. I would say there’s probably a 10% chance that we’ll see this released today and maybe a 30% chance that we’ll get the GM. Now, that’s because MacOS releases usually happen about three weeks or so or four weeks after iOS releases.
So I don’t really see this happening in September, especially since MacOS Big Sur is also such a gigantic leap. October or even November would be the release date, in my opinion. Catch more Apple event on our website.
